Do you want to live forever?

Do you want to live forever? I certainly wouldn’t. Your family and loved ones would die while you still lived, and their sons/daughters would grow old and also die. Your world would die – yet you would live. You would live around generations of people. True, you would live to see the best of technology and you could travel the world, but there would be no-one to share it with. And at some point, you would have seen everything there is to see. You would know everything there was to know. How bored you would get.

So there are a few bad points. How about good points?

  • See everything you want to see
  • See your families entire life – from son/daughter’s birth to death
  • Some other things

What is your opinion on this subject. Do you want to live forever? If so, why or why not? Is it because you would get bored, or is it because you don’t want to outlive your offspring/spouse?

Haikus about things that drive you nuts

Write a haiku about something that drives you nuts. Well, I am going to put some comments that people made first. Ok?

Someone wrote:

Oh where would I start
And oh my where would it end
Oh not a good idea.

Nice! Someone else wrote:

My dirty dishes
They linger in the kitchen
I despise the smell.

I think some people will agree with that one! And finally:

Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don’t make sense
Refrigerator

Great!

And now one of my own…

The world can be crazy

One or two things at a time

But I will survive

I don’t know whether that really worked… One more:

My brother is so mad

There can’t be a day without him

Though I like him really

All this haiku writing is making me tired. Time for a rest. :-)

What would a haiku about what is driving you nuts be like?

UPDATE (14/04/2011): I have realised that the haikus I wrote aren’t actually haikus. I thought that it was 5 words, 7 words then 5 words. It is actually 5 syllables, 7 syllables and 5 syllables. Sorry!! You’ll have to do more in the comments to make up for my mistakes… :-)

Books that change lives

Name a book that changed your life. I don’t think a book has ever changed my life. I don’t think a book has changed the way I think about life and my actions…

Oh, wait!! There is one book that has actually changed my life. It has been around for a long time, is available in many editions, is actually many books in one, and it was written by many people.

Any guesses?

Yes, you got it right!/No you got it wrong!/You didn’t bother guessing? Why not? It’s The Bible. The Holy one. No, it hasn’t got any holes in it…

What influence did it have on your thoughts, attitudes, and actions? In many ways. Take the ten commandments, for instance. Obeying those 10 rules as much as you can will change anyone’s life. Yes, everyone. Name me a person who hasn’t lied recently. Any takers??? Didn’t think so. (By the way, I know Jesus didn’t lie: he was perfect.)

I think that may be about it for today. If you are interested in what the Bible has to say, or more about Christianity, click here.

What book has changed your life?

Holy Bible

Anyone read this?

My greatest hero of all time

Who is my greatest hero of all time? Ooh, that is hard to decide. Probably the Doctor (from Doctor Who). The Doctor always wins against the Daleks and more, can regenerate when other people would die, can travel in time and space and so much more. It’s amazing what he can do.

What about my greatest villain of all time? The Daleks. No contest.

If there was a TV version of my life, who would play my evil (or not so evil) brother? My brother, probably. He’s one of the best actors I know. :-)

What is your greatest hero/villain? Who would play your siblings in a TV version of your life?

The Eleventh Doctor

The Daleks

Wondering where the picture of the Doctor lying on the grass came from? See the below video:

People Come Into Your Life for a Reason

“…People come into your life for a reason…”

People say this a lot…

But, I would like to add a little bit to this:

I do believe that this can be the other way around also; “I come into his/her life for a reason”.

What have you given to those around you that made them better? Elevated them in such a way that changed their lives for the better?

Though I believe people come into our life for a reason, I also believe we are in someone else’s life for a reason too (I don’t mean to say this as opposites, but just another perspective of seeing the same thing :) ). I believe it is a two way line.

Someone commented bellow the video and because it is totally awesome, I’d like to share it with you (even though something tells me you might have read it before :P ):

We were given: Two hands to hold. Two legs to walk. Two eyes to see. Two ears to listen. But why only one heart? Because the other was given to someone else. For us to find.

__

And last…

If you aren’t someone who believe in anything transcendental, at least we do all believe in the logic of cause and effect. What cause and effect are you making? ;)

Have a great day ^_^!
